The purpose of a storyteller

is to weave a tale that grabs you, sucks you into the pages of the story, immerse you so deeply that when you come up for air you don't even know what it was you were reading because you were so adrift in another place, in the dramas of other people, you lost track of time and place.

We are all connected

I do believe we are all connected, and we are just a few clicks away from meeting each other. I think this is why we fall in love with stories in which we find a connection. Not necessarily a connection to our own social situation, but something so much deeper. It is a connection our souls make. A connection based on feelings and emotions.

Sometimes I am a mess and everything is not fine, and I am not okay, but then I start writing all that crap right out of me. Most of the times those ramblings are the first to be backspaced in the first editing process, but it is cathartic for me to bleed words from my soul.

This is why we should all be storytellers.

We should all sit down in front of our computers or grab a pen & paper, and just do some automatic writing. According to Wikipedia, automatic writing is an alleged psychic ability allowing a person to produce written words without consciously writing. The words are claimed to arise from a subconscious, spiritual or supernatural source.

Without going too far out, let's just do some writing without thinking.

We should all be storytellers

When I started my writing career all those many moons ago, I listened to music as I wrote and (for a lack of better words) left this world in my mind. Then when reading it back I was sometimes a little in awe of myself. Today, it dawned on me, I was probably tapping into my subconscious and I was writing automatically (which sometimes still happens - not often enough).

Are you ready to get all those trapped thoughts out of your head?

Let's go!
