A Trip Down Memory Lane

On the 16th of November 2013, we went on a camping trip to Pilanesberg National Park as a see-you-soon-goodbye to South Africa before we moved to Northern Ireland.

We took more than 500 photos that day, and I'll share some of those memories with you.

Pilanesberg National Park

Pilanesberg National Park is set within the crater of an ancient volcano, formed 1.2 billion years ago by overflowing magma.

A zebra - up close

We were very close to this elephant, and it got a little panicky in the car, but it was absolutely amazing!

A giraffe, in case you were wondering.

Another giraffe walking toward the road, so we stopped and waited.

That same giraffe, crossing the road.

Our sleeping arrangements...

Good thing Danie has amazing tent building skills, because that night there was a scary storm with howling winds and crashing thunder. At one point, I thought we were going to all be lifted up into the sky and sucked into some kind of vortex.

We remember this night fondly and still laugh about how scared we were :o)
