Frequently Asked Questions- Answered

Where are you from? Where do you live now?

I was born in South Africa, but I now live in Derry/ Londonderry

When did you start writing?

I have been writing stories since I can remember, albeit always in my head. It was only in 2008 when I sat down and set the ideas in my head free by typing that very first sentence to My Recycled Soul

What made you become an author?

Even though I was in a very well paid full time job when I started writing My Recycled Soul, I had this inner drive to write a story from finish to end, and once I started writing, I could not stop. The day I finished My Recycled Soul, I felt such an immense sense of accomplishment, greater than anything I had achieved up to that point in my life (career-wise, that is).

Why do you write books?

Writing is therapeutic, in a way. Considering some of my subject matter, it may seem as if I have been abused and am living upon the edges of suicide, but this is far from the truth. I grew up with a mom, and a dad, and two brothers in a happy, stable family even though we moved all the time. I cannot really explain it, but I have this deep empathy with the world, and I can cry for days about people I don't even know - just play me the right song :0)

Can I get a signed book?

Post a comment on my Facebook Page saying 'Where can I get a signed book?' and I'll send you a Private Message.

Favourite Dessert

Anything in, on or smothered with chocolate.

Favourite colour

Sinead asks me this all the time, and it seriously changes from day to day. All colors are pretty.

Dog or Cat?

I do love cats more than dogs, but only because cats are so much more independent. If I had a bigger house though, I'd have a dog as well. Dogs love with a total abandonment and recklessness without holding anything back, and sometimes I miss that.

How many children do you have?

Three - if you don't include my husband :O) - I have a son, William. Two daughters, Tahne and Sinead, one daughter-in-law, Adelaide, one son-in-law, Danie and one most awesomest grandson, Nathan.

Your books aren't published in my country. How do I get one?

I always try to include online links on each book page. You can also go to your library or favourite bookstore and ask them to order a copy.

Are they going to make a movie of ForNever?

Hopefully one day :o)
